SEMINAR CUM WORKSHOP AT CET BY CIMT

cetworkshopCET is a non-profit government organization, which helps the workforce upgrade their skills, or retrain for a different profession. This includes not only people who are without jobs, but also those who are currently working. They have eight locations across the GTA. They give information to clients about a variety of issues including the various courses available, who conducts them, their contacts, and so on. They work with Qualification Assessment centres, Second Career, and some other agencies to help individuals wishing to upgrade.

Newcomer Information Centres (NIC) are funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada to assist newcomers settling in Canada. They have nine location across the GTA. The Centre offers comprehensive information, including and not limited to, employment and occupations, credential evaluation, language training, housing, health services, legal issues, citizenship and immigration and various social, community and recreational services. There is a lot of overlap between these organizations and several government departments and agencies in trying to create jobs, and helping people get jobs.

It was a one of its kind event where the counselors from NIC and staff of CET was present and took part in the presentation given by CIMT.The information was on different courses being offered by CIMT and how it benefits both the newcomers as well as those who are looking for career development. They were all exuberant at the courses being offered by CIMT and praised the efforts of CIMT for making a noticeable contribution to the society.
