Events A one-day minute takers workshop was organized at CIMT College on August 9, 2012 at its Malton campus. The workshop which was conducted by Preet Bal Sahrawat highlighted the various issues relating to the job of a minute taker. The workshop started with a discussion about the various kinds of meetings that one can expect to attend in a workplace. The speaker then elaborated on the Business Meeting Terminology and used some practical examples to support the content. The participants in the workshop also gained knowledge about how to prepare for a meeting and what is the role and skills of the minute taker. The workshop was interspersed with real life examples and practical activities which made the workshop very interactive and useful. The workshop also trained the participants on how to take minutes, which tips would make them more successful as a minute taker and also dealt with how to maintain cordial relations between the chairperson and the minute taker. The workshop came to an end with the action plan for their next meeting and awarding of certificates to all the participants.
