Students Benefit from “Memory Improving Skills” Workshop!

“Improving Memory – Unlocking the Human Potential” a free workshop on for the students attending the curriculum of various diploma Programs - Personal Support Worker, Network Administration, Medical Office Administration was conducted at CIMT College. The workshop was facilitated by Mr Pas Paskaran, the veteran and an experienced public speaker. He emphasized the need and purpose of attention in learning – he said most learning is affected by the attention and the review during the span of learning. He talked of sensory memory, short team memory and the long term memory to explain the levels of retention. The workshop also included a memory exercise to practice memorizing skills by using the attention and the story telling techniques. In the practical application, Mr. Paskaran, used the example of learning chemical formulas and names of all Canadian Prime Ministers, to give understanding on how the students can enhance their memory by using simple tools. On the whole the workshop was informative and the highlight learning in the way that is fun at the same time, informative.
