Computer Fundamentals and Internet - Introduces to computing fundamentals, internet and windows operating system.

Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint - Introduces to the skills, training and assessment of computing concepts and techniques to gain proficiency in word processing, spread sheet functions and impact of computing on the present day society.

English I - Introduces to college level English reading and writing skills to develop grammar, vocabulary and paragraph development.

Business Mathematics - Introduces to the essential concepts of making business related calculations.

Financial Accounting I - Introduces to objectives and fundamental concepts of accounting, analyzing and recording of financial transactions; preparation of income statements; accounting for merchandising business, fund flow analysis, payroll accounting and employer’s payroll expenses.

Microsoft Excel - Introduces to improve the competency in customizing the Excel interface.

Business Communication - Introduces to the fundamental principles of effective business communication in global environment, stressing on the skills necessary for developing, planning, organizing, outlining and editing various business documents.

Introduction to Cost Accounting - This subject introduces the fundamental concepts and techniques of cost accounting for manufacturing, merchandising, and service organizations. Students examine cost terms and purposes, cost behaviour, cost drivers, inventory types and valuation methods, spoilage, rework and scrap, pricing decisions, budgeting and variance analysis, cost-volume-profit relationships, job costing, and activity-based costing. Emphasis is placed on classifying costs for decision-making, measuring product and period costs, and applying inventory methods such as FIFO, LIFO, and weighted average.

Administrative Procedures - Introduces to the technical skills, soft skills as well as the right attitude to be successful in the challenging, dynamic and diverse workplace environment of the Canadian office.

Financial Accounting II - Introduces to various categories of capital assets, their amortization and accounting for intangible assets, current liabilities and their classification along with organization and operations of corporations and partnership forms of business.

Corporate and Business Law I - Introduction to the Canadian Legal System, courts, tribunals, and procedures, including torts, contract law, sole proprietorship, partnerships, and corporations. Explore employment law, termination and dismissal, collective bargaining, and consumer protection and safety. Students also learn about environmental law, real estate laws and land transactions, intellectual property, patents, trademarks, bankruptcy and insolvency in Canada, and associated legislation.

Business Values and Ethics - Introduces the categories and framework of philosophical ethics in selected professions and the role of the government and issues of corporate governance.

Quick Books and Sage 50 (Simply Accounting) - These two courses introduce the implementation of two computerized accounting software packages, recording of accounting transactions and peroration of financial statements, as well as creating an appropriate accounting system using the business database. It also introduces to the use of the accounting software Sag 50 (formerly called Simply Accounting) and Quickbooks to complete an entire accounting cycle, including the production of financial statements.

Human Resource Management - Introduces to the theoretical and practical aspects of human resource management including job analysis and design, recruiting, retention, training & compensation systems, employees’ health & safety with emphasis on contemporary governmental, legal requirements and international competition.

Income Tax - Corporate - This Taxation course will teach you to do your own tax return with confidence, plan tax strategies that save you money, keep up-to-date on new tax changes, help others prepare their tax returns, minimize your tax liability, find answers to your tax questions and determine which deductions and credits apply to you. Students receive an introduction to corporate income tax including Corporations, Partnerships and Joint Ventures, as well as Acquisitions and Divestitures.

Fundamentals of Payroll - Fundamentals of Payroll is one of a series of accounting transactions dealing with the process of paying employees for services rendered, after processing of the various requirements for withholding of money from the employee for payment of payroll taxes, insurance premiums, employee benefits, garnishments and other deductions, if any . It covers the basics of payroll practices and procedures.

Professional Skills - Prepares students with every aspect of their transition into their new career by identifying and teaching essential business and interpersonal skills. Students receive in class lectures, as well as a private one-on-one appointment with a Career Services specialist to perfect their resume package and interviewing skills.

Practicum - Practicum / Internship provides students with an opportunity to apply the knowledge and skills gained in the Accounting Administration with Internship program in a real workplace environment. While on placement, students gain practical experience in accounting support, bookkeeping, payroll support, tax documentation support, office administration, data entry, filing, customer service, business communication, recordkeeping, and use of business or accounting software. Students work under the supervision of a host site representative and are expected to demonstrate professional conduct, confidentiality, accuracy, punctuality, workplace communication, ethical behaviour, and practical problem-solving. CIMT College assigns placements to provide students with meaningful field experience before being awarded the diploma.
