CAREER GUIDANCE
The Admission/ Education Counselor at CIMT College will advise the current and prospective
students on their educational goals, program selection, and career planning and
personal development. The Admission/Education Counselor will discuss your interest
and guide you through your process of decision making in order to join a particular
program while keeping in mind your background, experience, prior knowledge and skills.
The primary responsibility of the Education Counselor is to assist you in defining
a pathway to be successful in your career and achieve your professional goal.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
SCHOLARSHIP AND BURSARIES
CIMT College offers scholarship and bursaries to eligible Canadian students. The
scholarship amount is decided on the basis of previous qualification, certifications;
experience and knowledge set of the student. To enquire if you qualify for the College
scholarship, please schedule an appointment with the Education Counselor. You are
required to bring your transcripts, degrees and diplomas taken in the past years
and your experience/reference letters when you meet with the counselor. To schedule

You may also qualify for one or more of the following financial assistance options:
MONTHLY PAYMENT PLAN
A monthly payment plan can be arranged to suit your needs. Tuition and material
costs are divided into monthly throughout your program. The first payment is due
on the first day of classes, and the final payment is due approximately one month
prior to completion of your studies. Payments are interest free during your study
period. All students are automatically eligible for monthly payment plans with no
credit check or co-signer required. For more information you can reach the admin

EXTENDED MONTHLY PAYMENT PLAN
For students who qualify, monthly payment plans may be extended beyond the end of
your student period. A credit check is required and some conditions apply. For more

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE THROUGH GOVERNMENT FUNDING
The students can also fund their education through Second Career Program from
EI and WSIB. For more details call 905-671-9999.
OUT OF PROVINCE STUDENTS
Financial assistance may be available for out of province students who qualify.

STUDENT LINES OF CREDIT
Most major banks and credit unions offer student lines of credit to finance post
secondary education. Please visit your financial institution to find out more information.
LIFELONG LEARNING PLAN
The Canada Revenue Agency Lifelong Learning Plan (LLP) allows you to withdraw amounts
from your RRSP’s to finance your education for you or your spouse (or common law
partner). You may withdraw up to $10,000 per year, and up to a total maximum of

REGISTERED EDUCATION SAVINGS PLANS
Students, who have been named a beneficiary under a family member’s Registered Education
Savings Plan (RESP), may use funds from the RESP to finance their education at CIMT

EMPLOYMENT ONTARIO
The Ontario Ministry of Colleges and Universities (MCU) administers programs,
such as Employment Ontario, to assist individuals who are unemployed or who have
qualified for Employment Insurance. Students may qualify for postsecondary education
financing through Employment Ontario or other programs managed by MCU.
EMPLOYER AND UNION SPONSORED EDUCATION PROGRAM
Some employers and unions provide education assistance and tuition re-imbursement
programs for employees and children of employees. Check with your employer, or your
parent’s employer(s), to see if they offer any education assistance or tuition re-imbursement
programs that you may qualify for.
TAX RECEIPTS
Official Tax Receipt (T2202A) is issued to the student at the end of the year. The
student can request for the tax receipt by contacting the admin office at 905-671-9999
